    About the event

We invite you to a concert by Japanese artist Ryosuke Kiyasu (JP), which will take place at Galeria Turnus as part of the 9th edition of Avant Art Festival 2025 WARSZAWA. The concert is an accompanying event to the exhibition by Ant Łakomsk titled Camille, presented as part of Warsaw Gallery Week. 🎟️ FREE ENTRY Ryosuke Kiyasu is a Japanese drummer and globally recognized snare drum soloist, active since 2003. Known for his minimalist performances, he has built a unique musical language based on intensity, rhythmic repetition, and physical expression. In addition to his solo work, he has played in bands such as SETE STAR SEPT, Kiyasu Orchestra, and the legendary lineup Fushitsusha led by noise scene wizard Keiji Haino. He was also a co-founder of the Canadian group The Endless Blockade. His solo performance from Berlin in 2018 garnered over 23 million views on social media, attracting the attention of a wide audience and media outlets such as BBC News and VICE Magazine. Between 2022–2024, he performed at major percussion and outsider art festivals, including Überschlag Festival (the world's largest classical percussion festival), Dr. Martens Fest, Alternativa Festival (Czech Republic), and Outsider Art Festival (Finland). In 2023, his performance was presented as a short film at the Edinburgh Art Festival, where he gained recognition as one of the festival's key figures. Beyond his musical activities, he collaborated with the fashion brand Our Legacy, and his impressive discography includes over 200 albums. In recent years, he has been touring intensively across Europe, appearing in cities such as Warsaw, where his extreme form of expression has been enthusiastically received. As he emphasizes, his art is not just music but also a "ritual of intensity" and connection—with stage tradition: the instrument, space, and audience. Ryosuke Kiyasu consistently confirms his position as an avant-gardist, redefining the status of the snare drum in contemporary sound art. Co-financed by the funds of the City of Warsaw, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund—a state special-purpose fund, as part of the "Music" program implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
