As part of the 4th edition of FRINGE Warsaw 2025, the Dom Sztuki will host Antonina Dukowicz's photography exhibition "Exceptionally Cold Spring". Through her photographs, the artist revisits emotions from many years ago to better understand herself and her femininity, shaped by a complex bond with her mother. - "Reflecting on my relationship with my mom, I return to moments where closeness was both present and absent. It is gestures, their repetition, daily life, and objects – hair, clothes, furniture – that became her most significant trace for me. - 'Exceptionally Cold Spring' is a record of the process of coming to terms with shared traits. Through photography and a simple, intimate installation reflecting my family home, I confront the question of the meaning of closeness. Closeness conveyed indirectly, yet present in everyday gestures and experiences." ✦ Antonina Dukowicz — visual artist, curator, art historian. She works at the Museum of Asia and the Pacific. In 2024, she conducted communication activities at Dom Sztuki. ✦ Julia Niedziejko — exhibition curator, poet, reviewer.
