39% of Internet users in Poland who are women personally experience cyberviolence. 64% see that it affects other women.
These are findings from research conducted in 2024 on the initiative of the European Fem Institute by the IQS studio, published in the report “Cyberviolence against women in Poland”.
Violence against women did not begin on the Internet. But with technological development it has gained new tools, scale and speed. Although everyone can experience online violence, women are particularly exposed to it.
Cyberviolence against women is not only individual harm. It is a human rights issue. It is an issue for the quality of public debate. It is an issue for democracy.
We will discuss this at the Roundtable “Women / The Web / Violence / Responsibility”.
