Join us for the first Open CNC Milling Workshop at FabLab! During the open day, you'll have the opportunity to consult your project, learn the basic principles of preparing files for milling, and mill a previously prepared project. Our educators and volunteer team will assist you with technical aspects. If you'd like to consult your project in advance, write to us at [email protected]. 📅 Date: 15.09.2025, 4:00 PM–7:00 PM ✅ Registration: Open event. No registration required. During the Open Workshop, you can: - Consult your digital project - Get advice on how to best prepare your project for milling - Discuss the technology for executing your project - Prepare a milling file in a dedicated CAD/CAM program - Mill a finished project (e.g., a simple functional form) with our help - Observe the work of our largest machine (right next to the 3D printer) - Walk in "off the street" without registration - Have no experience in CNC technologies - Have experience in CNC technologies - Come with a friend Rules: - Enter the CNC workshop one at a time, in order of arrival. - Follow the instructions of the workshop team and adhere to safety rules. - If you fail to follow the instructor's instructions or violate workshop regulations and safety rules, you may be asked to leave the workshop. - Do not remove anything from the workshop. - If you have a large project/commercial order, the open workshop is not the time for its execution – it's a time for project consultations, experimentation, and small projects. - If you're unsure whether your project can be completed during open hours – write to us. - Machines can only be operated by the Open CNC Workshop team. - Each participant must bring their own material for work (preferably plywood 12 mm or thicker). Materials cannot be purchased on-site. - You can use the workshop without time limits, but within reason and empathy – in case of high demand, do not block the machines – allow others access. - If the workshop is fully booked, you must wait your turn or return at another time. What to prepare: - Your own material – approved by the instructor before milling. - Acceptable materials: waterproof plywood, solid wood, MDF, plexiglass (PMMA), polycarbonate. - Material must be clean, flat, free of nails, staples, screws, knots, paint, or glue residue, and no thicker than 30 mm. - Material dimensions: at least +5 cm margin on each side relative to the project (needed for mounting). Project file: - Format: DXF or SVG. - Scale in millimeters. - No overlapping lines or duplicates. - Only 2D or 2.5D projects (no 3D milling). The instructor may refuse to execute a project if: - it does not meet technical requirements, - it requires too much processing time – in such cases, the project will not be executed. Event organized by the Robisz.to Association in collaboration with the Orange Foundation.
