Oneohtrix Point Never has for two decades been one of the key architects of contemporary electronic music — an artist whose vision shaped the sound of 21st-century digital music. His experiments influenced the development of vaporwave, new ambient and hybrid genres. Daniel Lopatin will perform on April 12 at Stodola in Warsaw, and visuals will be created by Freeka Tet.
Daniel Lopatin is a creator who redefines the boundaries of electronic music — from groundbreaking “Eccojams”, through “R Plus Seven” and “Garden of Delete”, to film projects. He has collaborated with The Weeknd, Charli XCX, Iggy Pop, Anohni and David Byrne and created scores for the Safdie brothers, Panos Cosmatos and Sofia Coppola.
His latest album “Tranquilizer” marks a return to working with samples and explores a sonic “lost archive”, filtered through his own tools and digital distortions — the material balances between calm and overload, ambient and glitchy fragmentation.
Freeka Tet — a French digital artist based in New York — combines animatronics, electronics and coding with internet-meme aesthetics. His works have been shown during Day for Night, at La Gaîté Lyrique, the Benaki Museum, Fondation Cartier and at Google I/O.
