We invite you to the Warsaw premiere of the film, accompanied by a meeting and conversation with the creators – Anka and Wilhelm Sasnal. "Man for All Work" is the latest film by Anka and Wilhelm Sasnal. The screenplay is based on the novel by Swiss writer Robert Walser "Villa under the Evening Star" (in the new edition "Man for All Work"). The film premiered at the 54th International Film Festival in Rotterdam and was also presented during the 25th International Film Festival New Horizons in Wrocław. Film description: Joseph Marti (Piotr Trojan) works as an anonymous bookbinder. He is only distinguished by a mistake – a poorly glued book that the supervisor shoves in his face. This is a turning point for Joseph – he takes off his apron and leaves. However, he feels that neither his presence there nor his departure matters. Time is also irrelevant, shifting from the present to the past. Joseph ends up in a suburban villa from the early 20th century, where he takes the position of assistant to engineer-inventor Tobler (Andrzej Konopka). Gradually, he becomes a man for all work: managing accounts, correspondence, and being a confidant to the lady of the house (Agnieszka Żulewska). He obediently fulfills all orders. Tobler's ambitions seem increasingly like a distant dream. The family's financial situation becomes dire. Faced with growing tension in the Toblers' marriage and acts of violence, Joseph decides to leave. The film stands out with its distinctive visual aesthetic; Sasnal's camera reveals an intense world suspended between dream and reality with painterly grandeur. The atmosphere of absurd hopelessness is amplified by the film's sound layer, pulsating, anachronistic, and full of emotion. 📍 Location: MSN tower 🎟️ Tickets: available at the box office and online The exclusive cinema partner is @eonpolska.
