The daffodil became a symbol of respect and remembrance for the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising thanks to Marek Edelman. Every year on April 19 he placed yellow flowers at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes in Muranów — we continue this tradition by handing out thousands of paper daffodils during the anniversary observances.
