"Neonova" is the latest project by Julia Pietrucha and Marta Zalewska. It consists of new, reflective songs relating to life, inner relationships, and everyday observations. Julia Pietrucha - Polish singer, composer, music producer, actress, and model. In 2016, she independently released her debut album. She has recorded a total of four independent studio albums (Parsley, Postcards from the Seaside, Folk it Tour, Neonova), participated in many guest music projects and albums (Kwiat Jabłoni, Miuosh x Pieśni Współczesne), and plans to release two more albums in the coming year. She has been awarded the Special Prize at the 32nd Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, the "Mateusz" Music Award of Program Three, and the MocArt Award of RMF Classic Radio. She plays guitar and ukulele. From Julia: "Inspired by a conversation with my friend Marta Zalewska, a singer and multi-instrumentalist, we decided together to form a duo in which we will attempt to convey the beauty of original compositions in the simplest possible form. These, wrapped in arrangements referring to American neofolk, Americana, country, and bluegrass music, sung in harmony with the accompaniment of our beloved guitars, and sometimes mandolin, violin, and percussion, will be something completely unique in Poland. Two beautiful, talented (and, as will soon be revealed, extremely funny) beings join forces, sensitivities, and talents and set off together on a concert tour, inviting those who crave chills down their spine, those who close their eyes while listening to music, and those who drift away in meandering melodies, good for body and soul." The songs were written and composed by Julia in just two weeks, during a strange, cosmic surge of energy at the turn of January and February 2024, after many months of inner, creative silence. Almost immediately, still warm from the strings of her Gibson, they reached Marta, who, by stimulating the most sensitive strings of her artistry and visiting regions of American music close to her heart, expanded them with moving, natural, and genuine arrangements that embody the beauty of shared musical inspirations. For the studio recording, the girls invited musicians whose sound and character they value, so they could also contribute. Besides the arrangements, Marta Zalewska is responsible for recording the bass, guitar, vocals, and backing vocals. At this concert, Julia will perform compositions from the "Neonova" album as well as other well-known songs from previous albums, accompanied by two musicians.
