As part of the 106th Wave, the following concerts will take place: - Ciśnienie - trans jazz Katowice-based Ciśnienie was created with one goal: to deliver the most shocking and intense musical climaxes imaginable. Stylistically, it is a mix of post-rock, orchestral music, and trance jazz, with inspirations ranging from bands like Swans, Fire! Orchestra, and GY!BE to the music of H. M. Górecki and Arvo Pärt. Saxophone, violin, and keyboards blend here with seemingly mismatched, distorted bass and frenetic drums, resulting in exceptionally colorful and diverse sounds: from improvised, psychedelic ambient, through classical harmony, to rhythm-driven, ostinato walls of sound. Currently, Ciśnienie is promoting their latest release, out on September 19, 2025 [angry noises]. So far, the band has played over 100 concerts in Poland, as well as in Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, and the Czech Republic, including performances at ESNS Eurosonic Noorderslag (NL), Enjoy Jazz Festival (DE), OFF Festival 2025 (PL), FONOMO Festival (PL), Garana Jazz Fest (RO), Katowice JazzArt Festival (PL), Soundrive Festival (PL), Porta Jazz (PT), Czech Music Crossroads, Hradecky Slunovrat (CZ), Rock In Bourlon (FR), and Ship Music Festival (HR). All Ciśnienie releases are live recordings. They've known each other since elementary school and have been playing together for over a decade. In the meantime, they've collaborated with bands/artists such as Paktofonika, Hoshii, Marek Pospieszalski Oktet, Polish Radio Jazz Studio, Maciej Obara, Suferi, and Paulina Przybysz. In DEUX LYNX's work, the drum set and electric guitar as their natural means of expression serve as the foundation for constructions entangled in samples and sound effects. Although it's best not to do so, the duo's music can probably be most accurately classified as experimental, beat-based improvisational music with an illustrative-fantastic touch and organic hip-hop energy. Their inspirations include Witold Lutosławski, Robert Piernikowski, and a certain endangered predatory mammal from the feline family. In 2024, the duo debuted with the album LYNXTAPE I, featuring Natalia Grosiak, Kuba Więcek, Tomasz Dąbrowski, and Wuja HZG. The album is a natural extension of their previous sonic explorations, combining improvisation, experimental approaches to rhythm and sound with the unique musical language of their invited guests. ----------------------------------------------------------- The Sound Wave series focuses on presenting the most interesting phenomena from the field of sound art and visual arts.
