    About the event

The River That Remembers "Czytamy Latynoski" is a series of discussion meetings focused on the literature of contemporary female authors from Latin America. Together with Olga Godlewska, we will explore books that are thematically or genre-related. The theme of the third meeting will be the role of the river as a symbol of violence, memory, and survival. We will consider how the authors describe the experience of loss and daily life in the shadow of conflict. We will talk about the river as a space of danger and refuge, about motherhood, exclusion, and memory inscribed in the landscape. Readings for the third meeting: - Lorena Salazar Masso, "A Wound Full of Fish," trans. Katarzyna Sosnowska - Patricia Nieto, "The Chosen Ones," trans. Aleksandra Wiktorowska Familiarity with both books is not required but will facilitate active participation in the meeting. 📅 Registration required The meeting is made possible thanks to funds from the Civic Budget as part of the project "Na Woli czytamy do woli." We warmly invite you!
