🎬 On November 29-30, 2025, at the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw, the nineteenth edition of "Eyes and Lenses" – the only cyclical ethnographic film review in Poland – will take place! The "Ethnographic Workshop" Association invites you on a cinematic journey through various parts of the world and topics related to human experiences. The program includes, among others, body practices in the context of illness, childbirth, and aging, delving into colonial archives, stories of women fighting for recognition of their work (caregivers in Austria, mussel gatherers in Galicia, recyclers in Ecuador), as well as refugees from Ukraine, Afghanistan, and Western Sahara and their daily lives and dreams in the shadow of global conflicts. 🎥 "Eyes and Lenses" is an opportunity to engage with film and social research. The program features films created by ethnographers as well as documentaries with high social sensitivity – from classic observational films, through experimental autoethnographies, to works created in collaboration with protagonists. After the screenings, there will be meetings with the creators, where you can discuss the behind-the-scenes of film production. ℹ️ The detailed program and links to reserve free tickets for specific films can be found on the website: https://oczyiobiektywy.pl/ All films will be presented in their original languages, with Polish and English subtitles. 🆓 Admission to all events is free. We encourage you to support the virtual hat: https://etnograficzna.pl/wplata Your contributions help realize and develop this review, which is especially important this year due to the lack of external funding! 🎟️ Free tickets for film screenings are available at: https://bilety.ethnomuseum.pl/ And at the museum box office. ♿ ACCESSIBILITY The State Ethnographic Museum building is adapted to the needs of people using wheelchairs.
