Invitation to the scientific conference: Herstory of museology in Poland. Narratives of female museum professionals. Edition II 📅 October 16–17, 2025 📍 Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw Registration required (limited number of seats). Free admission. Registration: [email protected] The Royal Łazienki Museum is honored to invite you to the second edition of the interdisciplinary scientific conference dedicated to the topic of herstory in Polish museology. This year's edition, titled "Herstory of museology in Poland. Narratives of female museum professionals," continues and expands on important topics discussed in 2024, emphasizing the need to restore memory of women – museum professionals whose achievements and dedication have remained overshadowed by the history of museum institutions for decades. The inspiration for deeper reflection remains Linda Nochlin's words: "It is very important for women to confront their history and their current situation, without resorting to excuses and glorifying mediocrity." The conference aims to create a space for interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge, research, and experiences related to the role of women in the development of museums in Poland. We encourage researchers from various academic and museum backgrounds to join this important discussion. The conference will be held in Polish. The event will be fully recorded. Permissions for image distribution will be collected before the conference begins.
