"The Charming Poet" is a biography of Maria Pawlikowska‑Jasnorzewska that goes beyond the classic genre template. Joanna Jurgała‑Jureczka does not focus solely on facts — she seeks to capture the poet's unique aura, her magnetism, and her fascination with the fleeting and invisible. The author has researched the Kossak family for years; the results include books such as "Zofia Kossak. A Biographical Tale" and "Women of the Kossaks", which are also available in our libraries.
The author bases her work on rich archival material: letters, documents and critical texts, which she interprets with great sensitivity and care.
