In interwar Poland, the media prospered very well and developed dynamically. Cinema, radio, and phonography provided entertainment to increasingly broader masses of society. All these fields were severely restricted with the outbreak of the war, and after the capitulation of Warsaw, they almost completely fell silent. Almost – because although under very difficult conditions, on a small scale, and in a completely different character, they continued their activities. The lecture will be conducted by Dr. Michał Pieńkowski, an enthusiast of phonography history, who daily takes care of the pre-war film collection at the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute.
