In our opinion, the compulsive urge to accumulate objects is a symptom of collective trauma resulting from the paradoxes of modernity. People who succumb to the mania of collecting transform the intimate space of their home into a field of expression for the capitalist compulsion of overproduction. This phenomenon, embedded in contemporary consumer culture, has been analyzed for decades by philosophers and artists, starting with Duchamp's ready-made works or contemporary installations by Robert Kuśmirowski. The exhibition aims to capture the complex specificity of the hoarding phenomenon in relation to contemporary culture, philosophy, art, as well as the depths of human psychology and trauma.
