24th SPANISH FILM WEEK at Kino Pod Baranami — Kraków (20–26 March 2026)

Epic dramas and compelling true stories, bursts of laughter and real emotion, returns of masters and emerging stars — the Spanish Film Week program gathers the diversity of the Iberian Peninsula’s culture. From 20 to 26 March we invite lovers of Spain and good cinema to a week-long film feast.

  Leo (Paco León) lives carefree in a seaside town on Gran Canaria until Julia (Silvia Alonso) arrives with a baby, claiming it is his daughter Alba, and then disappears. Leo flies to the Basque Country; attempts to find Julia fail, and after eight years she returns to fight for custody of the child.

  When Iván (Fernando Guillén) breaks up with Pepa (Carmen Maura), the characters’ lives fill with chaos and comedy. The film marked a turning point in Pedro Almodóvar’s career, bringing him international fame and combining early temperament with a more mature form of his work.
• KONIEC LATA | TRAS EL VERANO (Yolanda Centeno) ES 2025, 94'
  Paula (Alexandra Jiménez) and Raúl (Juan Diego Botto) have been a couple for five years; their breakup is imminent. Six-year-old Dani is Raúl’s son from a previous marriage. The film explores patchwork family dynamics, drawing from the director’s personal experiences.
• KTO JEST KIM? | ¿QUIÉN ES QUIÉN? (Hugo Martín Cuervo) ES 2024, 100'
  The Fuentes family is a crazy household stuck in daily routine. After the daughter’s birthday wish, the next morning none of the family members wake up in their own bodies, which leads to total chaos and comic situations; the family must learn empathy and trust.
• MASPALOMAS | MASPALOMAS (Jose Mari Goenaga, Aitor Arregi) ES 2025, 115'
  Vicente (José Ramón Soroiz), 76, rediscovers strength and pride in being gay during a stay on the Maspalomas dunes, but after a stroke he ends up in a nursing home in the Basque Country. Despite adversity he recovers and learns to love again.
• MOJA PRZYJACIÓŁKA EWA | MI AMIGA EVA (Cesc Gay) ES 2025, 100'
  Eva (Nora Navas), a woman in her fifties, meets a handsome Argentine (Rodrigo de la Serna) during a business trip to Rome. The encounter makes her realize she can fall in love again; back in Barcelona she begins a new life as an open single woman.
• NIEDZIELE | LOS DOMINGOS (Alauda Ruiz de Azúa) ES 2025, 115'
  Winner of the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián Film Festival and recipient of 5 Goya Awards 2026, including Best Film. The story follows a family crisis around teenager Ainary (Blanca Soroa), who decides to enter a convent instead of going to university, sparking a clash of values in the family.
• POPOŁUDNIA SAMOTNOŚCI | TARDES DE SOLEDAD (Albert Serra) ES 2024, 125'
  Winner at the San Sebastián Film Festival 2024 and recipient of the Goya for Best Documentary. An intimate portrait of the outstanding contemporary bullfighter Andrés Roca Rey — a reflection on death, violence and beauty.
• PRAWO POŻĄDANIA | LA LEY DEL DESEO (Pedro Almodóvar) ES 1987, 100'
  A classic Almodóvar film. Pablo (Eusebio Poncela) struggles with his love for Juan (Miguel Molina) and the complications that arise from his relationship with Antonio (Antonio Banderas). The film lays the foundations of the director’s later style.
• PRZYJĘCIE | LA CENA (Manuel Gómez Pereira) ES 2025, 106'
  A comedy adapting the play 'La cena de los generales'. General Franco commissions an extravagant banquet, but the best chefs — prisoners of war — are released only for the preparations, which leads to unexpected events in the kitchen.
• ROMERÍA | ROMERÍA (Carla Simón) ES 2025, 115'
  Marina (Llúcia Garcia), adopted as a girl, at eighteen goes to Vigo to meet the family of her biological father. She uncovers family secrets and tries to piece together her parents’ story. Carla Simón takes us to Galicia and reconstructs that summer.
• TYGRYSY | LOS TIGRES (Alberto Rodríguez) ES 2025, 109'
  Tygrys (Antonio de la Torre) is a diver who feels at home underwater but insecure on land. His sister Estrella (Bárbara Lennie) supports and cares for him, though she dreams of escaping the dangerous world they live in.
• ZAWSZE JEST ZIMA | SIEMPRE ES INVIERNO (David Trueba) ES 2025, 117'
  Miguel (David Verdaguer), a landscape architect, travels to a conference in Liège with Marta (Amaia Salamanca). Their relationship is in crisis and the trip is meant to fix it, but a catastrophic mistake turns their lives upside down. The film is an adaptation of David Trueba’s novel 'Blitz'.
