We invite you to a series of 3 workshops in French 𝑬𝒏 𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒄̧𝒂𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒋𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒔, where we will explore the history of the Łazienki garden from the 17th century to today, as well as new vocabulary, including terms related to art and gardening. Each meeting will begin with a visit to the temporary exhibition "Life of the Royal Garden." We will learn about the plants characteristic of each century, the work of gardeners, and the tools they used to maintain this extraordinary place. We will also look for motifs of fauna and flora on elements of historical clothing, accessories, and tableware. The conversational workshops are intended for people who speak French at a B2 level. 👩🏫 Led by: Sandrine Jacques – native Frenchwoman, art historian, living in Warsaw for almost 30 years. Our journey will begin with the history of the Łazienki Royal Gardens. - Le jardin dans la littérature et le cinéma – The garden in literature and cinema August 31 This time, the conversations will focus on the depiction of gardens in literature and cinema. How are gardens portrayed in art, literature, and films? How can we interpret these works? What messages do they convey? We will discuss the types of gardens featured in the books, poems, and films we have read and watched. We will also talk about the significance attributed to them. We will delve into the form of Japanese haiku and try to create our own. There will be surveys, quizzes, and an introduction to poetic vocabulary related to gardens. - L'expérience du jardin – The experience of the garden September 7 During this meeting, we will discuss various experiences related to gardens – from the perspective of the gardener and the garden visitor – and learn more specialized words and expressions. We will consider whether gardens served the same functions in the past as they do today. We will share our experiences and visits to various types of gardens and parks in Poland and around the world.
