Perhaps someone here lives against their own desire? Or maybe there are many such people? "A Midsummer Night's Dream ZOMBIE" is a remix of transformations and subversively broken tropes, confronted with the linearity of a life lived according to the "norm". Playing with time and its linearity, but also with dispersion, fragmentation, compression, is connected to the queer, camp nature of the performance. Who is visible, and who is not? Who is hiding something, maybe even from themselves? Who copies whom, who teaches whom, who accepts whom? These topics are opened, among others, by copying another's movement as an actor's working method, as well as by confronting the theme of transgender identity with the figure of the zombie – most often depicted as a uniform, non-individual mass of threatening "Other". A similar language is often used to propagate hatred (but also to fuel and express fear) towards minorities – especially queer and refugee people. Schemes multiply and are not limited only to heteronormative ones... Because maybe we all play roles? Maybe we all try to be deceptively similar? 💸 Tickets: 20 PLN (regular) and 15 PLN (discounted) https://krakow.ast.krakow.pl/teatr-ast/repertuar/ Information: Organization and Promotion Department of AST Theatre tel. 12 362 71 30, bilety@ast.krakow.pl In the photo: Alex Spisak, Karol Pawluszek Photo by Piotr Kubic
