A banana taped to a wall, abstract and incomprehensible art installations – these are the most common associations most of us have when we hear terms like contemporary art or modern art. How to make sense of it all? Take part in a series of seminars organized by the Jagiellonian Club and gain basic knowledge that will help you navigate the enigmatic reality of art in our times! Surely many of you have come across memes mocking the banana taped to the wall; white walls applauded by sophisticated art critics, etc. The art of our times is associated by the average person with a huge dose of abstraction, iconoclasm, and left-wing political entanglement. Above all – it is incomprehensible. That’s why we invite you to a series of 5 seminars, which will take place at the Warsaw branch of the Jagiellonian Club at 35 Andersa Street in Warsaw. During them, step by step, you will receive the most important information to help you navigate the complicated map of contemporary art. 🗓️ Seminar schedule: - Thursday 13.11 at 18:30 – Introduction to art history – definitions and outline of history up to the 19th century.
