As part of the March Open Stage we invite you to a special concert of folk music and dance, where two worlds will join - the vitality of the south and the pulse of the north‑eastern lowlands.

It will be an evening full of contrasts and shared energy. From Spisz, through Orawa, to the White and Green Kurpie. Dances performed with flair, songs projected widely, distinctive rhythms and more than 70 artists on stage.
"Roots and Echo" is not just a concert. It is an encounter with living tradition - one that is not kept in a museum but breathes, moves and draws you into its rhythm.

The Slavovica Folk Ensemble is a Warsaw group founded in May 2022, specializing in the folklore of the Carpathians and neighbouring regions. The ensemble combines stage energy with care for the authenticity of the repertoire, creating performances based on reliable sources and a living musical sensibility. The vocal group is led by Wiola Jakubiec - a native highlander from Żywiec, singer and artist who gives the performed songs naturalness and character. Vocal preparation is supported by Maria Jakubczyk, who is also responsible for the flute parts. During the concert the ensemble will be accompanied by pianist Elżbieta Barszcz. The artistic director and founder of the ensemble is Mateusz Małacha, choreographer of the concert dance group.
The Jerzy Białobrzewski Folk Dance Ensemble 'Ostrołęka' is a folklore group from Ostrołęka active since 1984, bringing together children, youth and adults passionate about folk dance. Its artistic director and choreographer is Aleksandra Szymańska, the organizational manager is Kacper Mikołajczyk, and the music director and band leader is Joanna Niska. The ensemble's main activity is presenting Polish national and regional dances and promoting folk culture, especially the traditions of the Green Kurpie; the artists regularly travel to festivals in Poland and abroad - including Germany, Finland, Spain and Portugal. The ensemble's achievements include, among others, the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship Award, the Pro Mazovia medal and the main prize at the Mazovian Festival of Ritual Theatres for the performance 'Kurpie Wedding'.
