WŁODZIMIERZ KOTOŃSKI Monographic Concert Born 100 years ago (1925) and passing away in 2014, the composer was one of the most important creators of music in post-war Poland. He was the author of the first Polish electroacoustic compositions, a bridge between the Polish avant-garde emerging after the Stalinist period and the West, as well as a mentor to the most outstanding composers of subsequent generations. Włodzimierz Kotoński is a classic of electroacoustic music and was the first collaborator of the Experimental Studio of Polish Radio, established in 1957, a center of creativity utilizing tape and electronics that was significant for world music. Even in works with traditional instrumental ensembles, he often used electronic sounds, either pre-recorded on tape or produced as "live electronic music." This is evident in the pieces we will present at the concert dedicated to him – colorful, gentle, sometimes delicate and poetic music evoking images of nature. The program will be performed by the flow unit ext ensemble, which brings together leading Polish performers of modern repertoire. In addition to the music, there will also be words – Włodzimierz Kotoński will be remembered by his former students, who have been well-known to anyone even slightly interested in contemporary music for many years. 🎵 WARSAW, October 3, 2025, Prom Kultury, ul.
