About the event

Among those nominated and chosen for the title Cultural Patron of the Year 2025 there was only one woman – the painter Olga Boznańska. It is similar this year: among a crowd of men the title Cultural Patron of the Year 2026 (not Patroness!) was awarded to only one woman. It is Elżbieta Róża Czapska – a nun and social activist, the author of methods for the education of blind and visually impaired people.

And yet we have many women who have contributed to culture and science. Some are well known, but there are also those whose achievements and merits have not gone beyond the circle interested in a given field.

At our meeting we will hear about this year's Patroness and a few other outstanding women who have contributed to our country (and beyond).

The event is a neighborhood initiative, organized thanks to the courtesy of Maryla Puternicka.

Maryla Puternicka is a guide to Warsaw, a philologist, a graduate of the University of Warsaw and postgraduate studies at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
