Jan Wiszniowski, son of Roman Wiszniowski (alias "Harcerz"), who was one of the Silent Unseen, a volunteer soldier of the Polish Army during the September Campaign, a soldier of Anders' Army, an officer of the Polish Armed Forces in the West and the Home Army, and a communications lieutenant. 📅 At the same time, we invite you to view two exhibitions from the collections of the Institute of National Remembrance, available until September 13, 2025: - "Polish Underground State" The exhibition was prepared by the Regional Office of National Education of the Institute of National Remembrance in Białystok on the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Service for Poland's Victory. The photos used come from the IPN Archive, the National Digital Archive, the Polish Underground Study in London, the collections of the National Library, and the KARTA Center collections. - Author: Paweł Murawski - Graphic design: Linepag Graphic Studio – Paulina Gajda-Deszczka - "Silent Unseen" The elementary exhibition "Silent Unseen" was prepared by the Regional Office of National Education of the Institute of National Remembrance in Katowice. It presents the history of soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces during World War II who volunteered for special service. Almost every Silent Unseen's biography is worthy of showcasing heroic deeds. They carried out armed and intelligence operations against all enemies of independent Poland. Nearly one-third of the Silent Unseen died in service, while most of them received Poland's highest military decoration – the Virtuti Militari Order. The photographs and documents used come from the collections of: the National Digital Archive, the Archive of the Institute of National Remembrance, the State Archive in Kielce, the General Elżbieta Zawacka Foundation, and private collections: editor Jarosław Rybak, the Żychiewicz family, Michel Górski, Dr. Krzysztof A.
