ATTENTION!!! Limited number of spots available, registration at: [email protected] (please inform us how many people should be registered and choose a time - 10, 12, or 14) Do you know: - when and why the Citadel was built? - what secrets lie within the Katyn Museum? - what is the history of this institution? - how the Katyn massacre is commemorated in Warsaw? - who traveled over 28,000 kilometers in search of the truth? - who was the mysterious "John Doe"? - what is a caponier and what is Carnot's wall? - which museum was previously located here? Come and learn even more! On the occasion of the 86th anniversary of the Soviet aggression against Poland on September 17, we warmly invite you to explore the Katyn Museum exhibition located within the Warsaw Citadel. This institution is dedicated to preserving the memory of the Katyn massacre and its victims. Part of the former Tsarist fortress has been transformed into a facility that brings those dramatic events closer, showcasing their historical context, attempts to cover them up, and memorabilia of the victims. This walk takes on even greater significance today due to the stance of the Russian side, which has announced the closure, and possibly even the demolition, of the cemetery in Katyn, while once again questioning its responsibility for the crime. In such times, knowledge and remembrance are our duty to the victims.
