Archival testimonies of settlers, memories of their children, archival photos, and maps blend with stunning contemporary images of tea plantations and the Misiones jungle. "Colorada" is a story of memory, survival, and harmony. It is also a tale of transformation – from the traumatic experiences of war and emigration to finding a new place in the world. With deep respect for history and poetic imagery of nature, the film portrays the multi-generational process of taming foreign land and building a community that still preserves its Polish roots. 🎭 Tango workshops - 10.09 / Wednesday / 16:00–20:00 - 11.09 / Thursday / 16:00–19:00 - Auditorium / tickets at https://biletyna.pl/event/view/id/583249 and https://biletyna.pl/event/view/id/583255 or at the Służewski DK office, cost 25 PLN per person Dreaming of starting Argentine tango dancing but never had the chance? One of the artists of this event is Bárbara Grabinski – a tango singer from Buenos Aires whose voice can summon the spirits of the past. She has performed on the most important tango stages in Argentina, and since 2024, she has been sharing her art with Europe – from Italy, through France, to Latvia. Now she comes to Poland to tell a story that is her own. Grabinski delves into her family roots. Her grandmother Maria left Poland in 1927 and ventured into the unknown – to Buenos Aires – together with her sister Aniela. They left behind daughters, homes, and their homeland to seek hope and survival in South America. There, amidst toil and poverty, they found a new beginning. Maria married Polish emigrant Basil Grabiński and brought her daughter Albina to her just before the war. Aniela's daughters remained in Poland – a story of divided families that still resonates. Joining this musical tale is one of Poland's most outstanding bandoneonists – Wiesław Prządka, a virtuoso whose instrument becomes the voice of longing and hope. Prządka, as one of the few musicians in Poland playing the bandoneon, embodies the spirit of tango: raw, emotional, and unique. His presence ensures that every phrase pulses with authenticity, and every note carries the story of generations. Accompanying them on stage will be guest musicians and professional Argentine tango dancers Vitalina and Michał Shevchenko, who will bring to life the emotions hidden in melody and words – giving this story body, rhythm, and breath. Script and direction: - Michał Shevchenko – author of the project that combines the history of emigration, music, and memory into a moving spectacle. This is not just tango. It is a whisper from locked-away memories: of winter in a wooden house by the forest, of fields stretching along the Vistula, of a river that once led to a big city, and of a ship that once sailed away without a return ticket. On the other shore remained a radio in the kitchen, late afternoon sunlight, and a patio in the Buenos Aires province. Bárbara Grabinski sings with Maria's voice. Wiesław Prządka plays with the voice of the absent. And the dance of Vitalina and Michał is emigration, return, and memory.
