Program description: The training program is based on the preventive-intervention program Original Play, focusing on preventing aggression, conflicts, and social exclusion, responding to children's difficult emotions and behaviors without aggression, and supporting children's development and learning processes through Original Play. It presents an alternative to aggression and violence without the need for force, while maintaining self-esteem and respecting others' self-esteem. It enriches adults' competencies in responding to children's aggression, violence, and fears without resorting to defensive mechanisms based on fighting or self-defense. It provides skills to create a safe space for expressing physical or verbal aggression, enabling its transformation. The training is workshop-based. The theoretical part covers topics such as: - Cultural play vs. Original Play, - Attitudes, response patterns, and their impact on children's functioning, - Alternative ways of responding beyond patterns of fighting and fear (The essence of Original Play). The practical part of the training is based on exercises, bodywork, and emotional work. The exercises help participants recognize signals from the body and transform response patterns based on fighting and fear into patterns based on a sense of safety. Experiencing Original Play is a mindfulness practice that helps anchor oneself in the present moment and restore the ability to experience safety, relaxation, and genuine reciprocity. It provides an opportunity to gain insight into one's emotions and feelings and understand their impact on children's functioning. Workshop participants learn how to respond to children's difficult emotions and behaviors without aggression and how to become an authentic role model and safe base for children, enabling them to build self-esteem and fully, joyfully utilize their developmental potential. The Original Play program has received recommendations from the Central Teacher Training Center and honorary patronage from the Polish Committee for UNESCO for the International School Exchange project. It was presented by J. Graczykowska at the Polish Representation to the United Nations Office in Geneva during the seminar: "Towards Inclusive Education - Janusz Korczak and the Convention on the Rights of the Children."
