Warsaw Under Construction Is Warsaw a city for people of all ages? Is it ready for demographic changes and a society living longer and longer? The exhibition at the Wola Museum "Older City" is part of the 17th edition of the WARSZAWA W BUDOWIE festival. It is dedicated to the experience of aging and the place of older people in the life of the city. Artists guide us through the theme of aging in the context of the city. We showcase works by creators such as Władysław Hasior, Zbigniew Libera, Monika Mamzeta, Roman Opałka, and Agata Zbylut. Specially for the exhibition, works were created by Janusz Byszewski and Mariusz Libla associated with the Twożywo Group, Ewa Cieniak, Magda Mosiewicz, Franciszek Orłowski, and Liliana Zeic. We present the theme of aging from various perspectives. We give voice to seniors, as well as to people caring for elderly loved ones and those performing paid caregiving work. We showcase historical and contemporary solutions and assistance institutions designed by organizations and individuals working for social change. We show aging not as a problem but as a stage of life that concerns us all. "Old age should not be a taboo topic," "Seniors should co-create the museum's program" – these are some of the many demands formulated in the Senior Manifesto, a work by Franciszek Orłowski, created with the participation of the Club of Modern Seniors and the Intergenerational Activity Center "Nowolipie." This year's edition of WARSZAWA W BUDOWIE is organized by the Museum of Warsaw, which has previously collaborated with the Museum of Modern Art on past editions. Starting in 2023, WwB is alternately realized by both institutions.
