The popular Skaryszak is undoubtedly one of the prettiest, and according to some, the prettiest park in the capital. It is no coincidence that it boasts third place in the poll for the most beautiful park in Europe. This over fifty-hectare piece of greenery is truly the lungs of Warsaw.
But Skaryszewski Park is also a true open-air gallery of art – it hides a whole mass of wonderful works by great creators in its nooks and crannies. There is nothing more pleasant than a walk through this park, so I invite you to a joint trip, during which you will learn, among other things:
- who acted on women like the sight of marmalade on the orphans of the orphanage,
- what one of the more curious actions of the Polish underground looked like,
- what beauty contest lured Adolf Dymsza to the park,
- why the owl became a victim of a great hunt for hares,
- why you should think twice before letting a talented and pretty artist under your roof,
- which of the famous sculptors studied to be a rabbi,
- what Queen Elizabeth was doing in the park and why Gen. Jaruzelski called Margaret Thatcher a nasty woman.
This is of course only a tiny part of the attractions that await us on the walking route, which will take place on Sunday, January 19. Meeting at 11:00 in front of the park entrance from the direction of Washington Roundabout, near the bust of the park's patron, Ignacy Jan Paderewski.
The trip should not last longer than 1.5 hours. The walk is free, but if someone feels that the guide deserves a tip, he will certainly not be offended;)
The trip will be led by Rafał Dąbrowiecki, a licensed Warsaw guide, creator of the portal 'Butem po Wawie,' one of the fathers of the project 'Ogórkiem po Warszawie,' and the winner of the title 'Warszawiak of the Year 2018' in a popular poll. Positive emotions guaranteed.
