The Museum of Polish History cordially invites you to a series of workshop meetings SUNDAYS WITH HISTORY!

On January 19, we invite you to a meeting as part of the family workshops 'Sunday with History'! 📆

During the meeting, we will visit a medieval settlement and, thanks to the new exhibition '1025. The Birth of the Kingdom,' we will discover the secrets of the daily lives of its inhabitants.

⏰ 11:00 - 'What did the world smell like?' - workshops for families with children 3+

During the workshops, we will go to the exhibition and together we will ponder what the world smelled like 1000 years ago. We will learn about and compare, among other things, the scents of herbs, grains, trees, and fruits, and then we will try to make perfumes from essential oils. Each of you will leave with your unique scent enclosed in a glass bottle.

⏰ 12:00 - 'Flax - the gold of early medieval fields' - workshops for families with children 6+

We invite you on a fascinating journey through time, during which we will uncover the secrets of one of the most valuable plants of early medieval fields - flax. Why was flax more expensive than wool? What colors were given to linen fabrics? You will learn this and much more at our workshops. At the end, we will make traditional Slavic dolls - motanki.

⏰ 13:00 - 'Secrets of Manuscripts' - workshops for youth and adults

What did medieval books look like? What could you read in them? How were they created?

We will take a look at the tools of ancient scribes and craftsmen and check how the most notable manuscripts of that time were created. We will take on their roles and prepare elegant souvenirs from the workshops.
