Katarzyna Groniec will perform songs from the program 'Bliżej' on the library stage. During the performance, the artist will present works from 'Youkali' to 'Konstelacje,' from Hemar to Osiecka, meaning both old and new songs in an intimate setting. The artist will be accompanied by Adam Skrzypek (bass, moog) and Robert Jarmużek (keyboards).
Katarzyna Groniec, a singer, songwriter, and composer, made her debut as Anka in the musical 'Metro' at the Dramatic Theatre (1991). In 1997, she won the Grand Prix, First Prize, and the Journalists' Award at the Actor's Song Festival for 'Zdemaskowanie piosenki' by Hemar and 'Amsterdam' by Brela. In 2008, she received the Master’s Diploma named after Aleksander Bardini for outstanding artistic achievements in the field of actor's song. She is the winner of the Fryderyk 2024 in the Literary and Poetic Song category for 'Konstelacje,' a phenomenal work full of emotion and depth.
The artist also has theatrical and film roles as well as a literary debut to her credit. In 2023, her first novel 'Kundle' was nominated for three awards – the Gdynia Literary Award, the Witold Gombrowicz Award, and the Conrad Award. The book won the Witold Gombrowicz Special Award, granting Katarzyna Groniec a month-long residency in the French town of Vence. The jury honored the author for a poignant collective portrait of the Silesian town and psychiatric hospital in Toszek, strikingly hitting the stereotypical image of Silesia.
