We invite you to the first concert of this year, taking place as part of the 'Musical Stage of the Babel Club' project.

The concert 'I Like Talking to Leonard' features eleven songs by Leonard Cohen from his last three albums, performed and translated by the singer Marcin Styczeń. Until now, no one in Poland has performed these works. There were also no translations, as the greatest popularizer of the Canadian bard's work, Maciej Zembaty, passed away in 2011. Therefore, this is a pioneering work. All translations have been approved by Leonard Cohen's heirs.

Why 'I Like Talking to Leonard'? 'Translating Leonard Cohen's songs was like having a conversation with him. Sometimes we agreed, sometimes we disagreed, but generally, we looked in the same direction. 'Where it is not sad, where today is tomorrow, where no outfit is needed.' For some, this may be surprising, but for me, Cohen is an artist who, despite deep inner darkness, depression, and pessimism, moved towards the light. He did not comfort, did not offer cheap hope, but also did not sow doubt. The years spent in meditation taught him a healthy distance and acceptance of the dark sides of human nature. This concert is constructed in the same way. Darkness and light intertwine, just like in the life of each of us,' says Marcin Styczeń.

The concert will also feature Leonard Cohen's hits: 'Hallelujah,' 'Dance Me to the End of Love,' 'Famous Blue Raincoat,' and 'Tower of Song.'
