Location: Ursynów Cultural Center 'Alternatywy', Indira Gandhi Street 9, 02-776, Warsaw.

Duration of the workshops: 1.5 hours

The condition for participation in the workshops is sending an email and clicking and marking 'I will participate' in this event.

The aim of the workshops is to introduce and discuss a professional DJ course (DJ classes – mixing course for youth and adults), which will start on January 14 and 16, 2025 at the Ursynów Cultural Center 'Alternatywy'.

Two groups will be created - for beginners (Tuesday) and intermediate (Thursday).

The workshops will include:

✅ Familiarization with DJ equipment and its appearance and elements. You will learn what a DJ controller, turntable, mixer, CDJ is, and what equipment will be used for the classes. We will also discuss the music genres that interest the workshop participants.

✅ Discussion of the 3-month course for beginners. You will learn how to become a DJ without any prior knowledge and experience.

Discussion of the intermediate course and how you will reach a high level of DJing by participating in this course.

✅ Comparison of prices and offers of courses in private DJ schools in relation to the offer of the original, professional course with DJ Blendmaster Rip at UCK 'Alternatywy'.

✅ Explanation of the basics related to DJing. You will learn what 'BPM / beats' is, what a measure is, and what a phrase is in a musical piece. We will show you how pitch control works and how it relates to speeding up and slowing down a musical piece.

✅ Introduction to mixing two tracks in different music genres - hip-hop, house, or techno using all the elements discussed during the workshops.

👨🏻 DJ Blendmaster Rip / Maciej Tomczak - graduate of Brunel University London (Sound Arts/Experimental Music). Trained by the best world-class DJs from London and Leeds in the UK (DJ Tigerstyle, DJ Matman, DJ Mike-L).

Performed at the prestigious international Berlin Music Video Awards festival in 2017. Won the competition for the best mixtape organized by Reloop, combining bass house, hip-hop, techno, and other genres of electronic music. Performed in England, Wales, Germany, Slovakia, and Poland. In 2024, he performed at one of the largest festivals, the Polish Hip-Hop Festival in Płock. He played live as a DJ with many rappers from Warsaw and Poland. Collaborated with the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. He is also a Tastemaker of the latest electronic music for global music labels and PR companies, such as Armada Music (Netherlands), Space Yacht (Bay Area/USA), Relish PR Factory (Australia), Your Army (UK/USA), Infectious PR (Bristol, UK), The Myth of NYX (Netherlands).
