RUSZA VII Edition of the Literary Competition
'I Will Tell You a Story. Warsaw - districts'
We are participating in it 🙂
In 2024, the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising will be celebrated, which is why in this edition, stories and poems referring to this event, the people involved in it, and the places where the uprising took place will be welcome.

Objectives of the competition:
Shaping creative attitudes among the residents of Warsaw and its surroundings;
Acquiring artistically valuable works: poems, stories inspired by history, the present day of people and districts of Warsaw (Ursus, Wawer, Rembertów, Mokotów, Ursynów, Targówek, Ochota, Wilanów, Wola, Praga Północ, Śródmieście, Wesoła, Włochy, Bielany);
Encouraging the exploration of Warsaw's districts not only in geographical terms but also by searching for interesting events, people, legends, and mysteries.
The deadline for submitting works is January 17, 2025.

Zagłoby 17 (branch of the Cultural Center 'Arsus') with the note 'I Will Tell You a Story. Warsaw - districts'
The competition will be resolved by March 15, 2025.
The condition for participating in the competition is:
Submission of work electronically or by traditional mail
Submission to the organizer's email address; justyna.scibor@arsus.pl:
- a poem or a set of three poems
- a story
Submission to the organizer's address of a paper version; Dom Kultury 'Miś' 02-495 Warsaw ul. Zagłoby 17 (branch of the Cultural Center 'Arsus' in the Ursus district of the capital city of Warsaw).
One author may submit any number of poems or sets of poems, or stories, but each must be marked with a different emblem and sent in separate messages.
A participant in the Competition 'I Will Tell You a Story. Warsaw - districts' at the moment of sending their work (poem, set of poems, story) expresses a free consent for its publication in the collection of awarded and distinguished works in the post-competition collection and dissemination for non-commercial purposes.
At the same time, competition participants authorize the Organizer and Project Partners to present and publish them in mass media for information and advertising purposes of the competition 'I Will Tell You a Story. Warsaw - districts,' on the websites and social media portal Facebook of the Organizer and Partners.
Poems and stories must be marked with an emblem:
- on the emailed copies, files, there can be no information about the author other than the EMBLEM
- in the paper version, besides the text sent to the competition, there can be no information about the author other than the EMBLEM.
The emblem is the author's pseudonym, not a drawing.
A separate file should be sent with scanned, signed, and completed Attachments.
In the case of the paper version, the author's data and attachments should be in a separate envelope, which should also have the author's EMBLEM.
The text of the story may not exceed 15 pages of standard typescript.
Ways to submit works to the competition:
The email should contain files including:
1. A poem or a set of three poems or a story marked only with the emblem.
2. Information about the competition participant:
first and last name – mandatory
phone or email – mandatory
the category in which the participant submits their work
3. Attachments.
Works sent by traditional mail should include:
1. A poem or a set of three poems or a story marked only with the emblem in three copies, additionally, the competition texts must be recorded on a CD or USB drive.
2. Information about the competition participant (in a separate envelope):
First and last name – mandatory
Phone or email – mandatory
The category in which the participant submits their work.
Laureates will receive diplomas and material prizes during a ceremonial meeting at an agreed date.
* Prizes will not be sent by mail, collection is only in person. Diplomas will be sent to laureates by economic mail.
* Prizes not collected within 30 calendar days from the official award ceremony will be transferred to the pool of prizes awarded in other festivals and competitions organized by the Cultural Center 'Arsus'
Awarded works will be published in a commemorative post-competition publication.
Laureates of the competition and jurors will participate in the Literary Feast at the Bielany Cultural Center, which will also promote the competition 'I Will Tell You a Story. Warsaw - districts' and the authors of awarded and distinguished works.
The jury will evaluate works in the following categories:
• Poem and set of poems
• Story
At the same time, all of the above-mentioned literary forms will be divided into:
• Children – primary school
• Youth and adults.
