Glossary of the Podgórska Carol:
* Podgórski Deer - you may have seen the bas-relief at the corner of the tenement located at the intersection of Kazimierz Brodziński Street and Podgórski Market. It depicts a two-sided deer connected by one head. For years, it has been a huge source of inspiration for us. Four years ago, the Workshop elevated the deer to the status of an icon of the Podgórska Carol, and since then it has led a street procession through Podgórze, Kazimierz, and the Old Town every year.
* Homeless Nativity Scene - designed and made by the artisans of the Living Workshop and people with experience of homelessness - participants of the social and professional activation program, implemented by us in partnership with the Zupa Foundation. It was created from upcycled materials - scrap and old fabrics. The inspiration for the installation was folk toys and traditional Krakow nativity scenes.
Project and execution: Norka, Magda, Adam, Paweł, Krzysiek.
* Living Christmas Caroling Corpse - a performative-musical initiative formed as part of the activities of the Living Workshop under the direction of Anna Sitko. For three years, the group has been leading crowds during parades through the city as part of the Living Podgórska Carol, staging ritual theater, playing at dance parties, and reviving forgotten customs related to annual rituals in the region of Galicia.
* Wonderful Friends of the Living Workshop - that’s you 💚 Thanks to your involvement, the magic multiplies!
