'Without music, I would not exist,' Zdzisław Beksiński used to say about himself. Moreover, a long-time friend and art dealer of the artist, Piotr Dmochowski, even adds that although Zdzisław was a professional painter, his greatest passion was actually music. It is no wonder that music always accompanied his work. He listened to music sometimes for 14 hours a day, rather louder than quieter.
During this thematic tour about the most famous post-war Polish painter, we will focus only on the musical thread in the painter's biography. We will mention other musical creators who were inspired by his work, but we will also listen to the music he himself listened to while painting. Our walk through the exhibition will be accompanied by a prepared playlist with carefully selected pieces.
Each participant of the tour will receive a set of headphones that will allow them to experience Beksiński's work in a different dimension.
The tour is designed as an advanced and niche tour, and we will mainly focus on the musical themes of the Master from Sanok, so for a full appreciation of the tour, I strongly encourage participation in the classic tour about Beksiński, which provides the appropriate foundations for the advanced tour. The classic tour can be found by typing in the Facebook search: Beksiński in Warsaw - guided tour of the exhibition.
People who have already participated in the classic tour, after sending a message to my fan page on fb good events with Pawel, will receive a code for purchasing a ticket with a 50% discount.
I am a guide with 17 years of experience, an art lover, and I have visited all the most important Polish places related to the work of the Sanok artist.
I don't know if anyone in Poland has ever guided such a tour, but I am sure that Beksiński, as a music enthusiast and modern technology lover, would be delighted with such an opportunity! 🙂 See you at the exhibition!
