Autumn Lyrical Assembly🍂
as part of the autumn edition of the Festival All Mazurkas of the World
November 16, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, National Institute of Culture and Heritage of the Countryside (ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 66, Warsaw)
We summon grandfathers, minstrels, troubadours of all kinds of storytellers for a social and introductory meeting.
Whether from near or far, whether you have a hurdy-gurdy or not, or maybe you want to have one - you can come and be with us. We will sing, play, and talk as it used to be at lyrical assemblies, to exchange news, stories, and songs in accordance with tradition.
There will be with us those who build hurdy-gurdies - so an opportunity to order or talk about ordering, there will be those who play simply and those who play complicatedly.
I know that there will be songs of the grandfathers and balfolk melodies straight from Brittany, maybe from Occitania, as well as medieval and Kolberg tunes. And maybe someone will surprise us (which I hope for)?
We invite all those who want to sing grandfather songs both Polish and Rusyn. There will be about God, there will be about poverty, it will be apocryphal and cheerful.
But above all, we will meet to celebrate with song and wine the opportunity to spend time together.
The Lyrical Assembly takes place as part of the Festival All Mazurkas of the World, for which I want to sincerely thank the entire team associated with these events (including myself).
Bring your lyres, bring yourselves, if you want, bring something for the common table and come, because it’s worth it.
I warmly invite you.
