We invite you to the national scientific conference 'Peasants in Sources, Literature, and Art,' organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Władysław Reymont receiving the Nobel Prize in Literature for the novel 'Peasants'!
During the proceedings, we will discuss not only the themes related to the novel. Invited guests will talk about sources for studying the history of Polish peasantry preserved in Polish archives and the presence of peasants in 19th and 20th-century art. There will also be presentations dedicated to old folk customs and film adaptations of the novel awarded 100 years ago.

The event will also feature, among others, 👉 the exhibition 'Peasants in Archives,' 👉 a meeting with co-director and producer of the adaptation 'Peasants,' Hugh Welchman, combined with a film screening,👉 the awarding of prizes in the literary competition 'In the Footsteps of Reymont to Jasna Góra.'
Participation in the conference and accompanying events is free of charge.
