We invite you from 10:45, and at 11:00 we start the meeting.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
The voice is a mirror of you.
It loves to rest, play, experiment. It flourishes when you feel safe.
It is alive, moving.
The nature of the voice is a connection - through vibrations, rhythm, frequency, feeling, melody, space.
Because we are trembling beings and poets of sounds, we dream of melodies that pass through our bodies to make them sing.
Traditional songs are a vehicle for emotions and stories. The harmonies and disharmonies of polyphony are reflections of the shapes of Nature from which the melodies come. We will discover and build a connection between these melodies and the inner personal landscape. It will be a shared journey through time and space.
The practice includes three components: a holistic experience of the personal authentic voice of body-feelings-mind-spirit, community polyphonic singing, and expansion through improvisation.
ABOUT THE SELECTED SONG
We will focus on a song from the fertile green region of Megrelia (Samagrelo). I visited Georgia this year to learn from Madona and Ana Chamgeliani in Lakhushdi and Nino Naneishvili in Ledzadzame. Megrelian songs are as melodious as bells, their embellishments enchant like the shapes of lush flowers and plants. From this region, we will sing a healing lullaby (batonebo).
Healing lullabies are a special genre of ritual traditional song in Georgia. They are simultaneously soothing, gentle, and full of sonorous disharmonies. During the workshop, I will share more stories about this lullaby. It will be beautiful.
HOW I TEACH
I pass on the song as I received it, that is, teaching it in harmony. Without notes. Together we will create a beautiful experience for each other and for the world, I invite you.
THE WORKSHOP IS LED BY
Olga Lidia Kozłowska - psychologist, psychotherapist, singer, and voice researcher. Since 2011, she has been conducting Authentic Voice workshops focused on voice as a means of expression and self-discovery: in Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, and Germany. She has been exploring Georgian songs since 2015. She draws from diversity and mutual kindness. Songs are passed on to her mainly personally, sometimes from recordings. Her long-term masters include Frank Kane, Natalia Polovynka, Emma Bonnici, Amit Carmeli, Magda Sekuła, Madona and Ana Chamgeliani, Nino Naneishvili, and everyone she sings with.
In Wrocław, she led the Nana Choir, and now she combines traditional Polish and Georgian songs with the trio usakhelo. She collaborates with the Academy of Fine Arts and the Lower Silesian University and runs the Sens Psychotherapy office. She co-creates the international Institute of Devotional Arts.
She specializes in psychosomatic work with the voice. She applies knowledge about the vagus nerve and somatic work with the body, including elements of Body-Mind Centering, in the context of the relationship between the nervous system and the voice. She completed a 4-year professional training in Core Energetics psychotherapy (a sister method to A. Lowen's Bioenergetic Analysis), a 2-year Process-Oriented Psychotherapy Study, and Brainspotting training.
