Masterclass: From Embryology to Mobility: Practical Application in Osteopathy
➡️ The second in the 'DIG ON' Masterclass series:
🎓 Jo Buekens D.O. MSc (L) MSc. (A)
A course also useful for OSTEOPATHS working with NEWBORNS and CHILDREN.
DESCRIPTION:
During the workshop on mobility, we will delve into the mysterious world of embryology.
We will start building our knowledge from the very beginning, so that each participant can understand each subsequent step.
With this knowledge, we will smoothly transition to embryology in practice and the fact that mobility must be seen as a very important diagnostic tool.
Workshop participants:
→ will discover the mobility of the heart, lungs, brain, viscera, and limbs,
→ will learn models for practical use of mobility in their work,
→ will understand how to influence bones at the level of mineral physiology,
→ will see why embryology is so important in osteopathic work,
→ through a structured approach, will collectively navigate through various structures and depths in the body in their palpation.
This workshop will open entirely new dimensions of diagnosing and therapy for participants. The main emphasis is on translating the acquired knowledge into practice / working with patients, particularly working with newborns and small children. Mobility will be experienced as an expression of embryological dynamics.
Jo Buekens: “During the workshop, we will work with fascination in the areas of the heart, lungs, intestines, meninges, skull, ribs, and limbs, in order to approach the most important messages and genius of Still, Sutherland, Littlejohn, and other outstanding osteopaths.”
TOPICS:
• The principles of osteopathy then and now.
• What makes osteopathy so unique?
• Why does embryology deserve a particularly important place in osteopathy?
• Decisive embryological, biological, and dynamic processes.
• Embryology from a practical functional perspective.
• Embryological dynamics: where do we encounter it and how does it express itself?
• Sensing and interpreting manifestations of mobility in vessels and glands.
• Palpatory exploration of different expressions of movement in various tissues.
The ratio of theory practice: 50/50
➡️ Course for: osteopaths, osteopathy students.
