>🔴Route description:
/The starting point of the route is in front of the Church of St. Charles Borromeo at Powązkowska Street.
/There is no old Warsaw, but its old cemeteries create a vast complex at Powązki. Two great necropolises: the Catholic Old Powązki and the Jewish Cemetery. Two smaller cemeteries: the Evangelical-Augsburg and Reformed, and two tiny ones, namely the Muslim cemeteries: Caucasian and Tatar. Here we will find tombs and monuments of many generations of Warsaw residents. The oldest date back to the late 18th century. Members of various communities and denominations: Catholics, Protestants, Orthodox (once buried in the Evangelical-Augsburg Cemetery), Jews, and followers of Muhammad. Bourgeois, aristocrats, townspeople, artists, scientists, writers, politicians, and ordinary people. We invite you to walk through the Powązki cemeteries. The story of them is the history of the city and Poland over the last two centuries.
