The autumn equinox was an event particularly important for our ancestors. During the Harvest Festival, which took place between September 20 and 23, offerings were made and thanks were given for the crops gathered throughout the year. The autumn equinox, when day and night are equal, was also an opportunity for communal fun.
We invite you to a family Slavic picnic. The meeting will be enriched by Tańcograjka, which are music and dance animations for children and youth inspired by traditional Polish culture. We will journey with live music into the world of a mysterious fairy tale, during which we will sing, dance, and come up with spells.
Stepping into the mysterious time of the autumn solstice, when day equals night, we will invite you to a unique ritual of creating incense. The meadows give us their herbal power, which we will enclose in magical Slavic incense: sunny St. John's wort, protective wormwood, aromatic mugwort, and intuition-enhancing purple thistle. Each of these plants carries ancient wisdom and knowledge:
-the smoke from St. John's wort will brighten your thoughts and illuminate your mind,
-wormwood will drive away negative energy,
-mugwort will protect against unfavorable external influences,
-and thistle will strengthen intuition.
Together they will create a harmonious cleansing composition that will restore balance in your space.
When the last rays of the summer sun kiss the earth, and the everlasting flower, a symbol of eternally renewing life, blooms in the meadows, we will invite you to create a magical wreath. The everlasting flower is a symbol of light. This flower, representing the eternal cycle of life and renewal, holds the energy of the sun, reminding us of the joy of existence even in the face of the coming winter. During the autumn solstice, at the moment of balance between day and night, while weaving the wreath, we will connect with the rhythms of nature. The wreath will remind us of the cycles of life and the beauty that endures. Slavic traditions will come to life, and joy and harmony will weave into our hearts.
We will also light a communal fire to warm ourselves with its heat before the coming autumn and to bake something delicious 🙂
