Warsaw in the 19th century was a beautiful and multicultural city. Its unique character was also thanks to its residents, among whom was Fryderyk Chopin. Let’s go back in time 200 years and discover Warsaw through the eyes of this outstanding composer. Thanks to specially planned routes with guides from the Chopin Museum, we invite you on a unique journey through the streets of the 19th-century capital!
During the walks, participants will be able to collect stamps in the Walker's Passport. After collecting a complete set of stamps, participants will be able to pick a gift of their choice from a pool of prepared prizes!

Fryderyk Chopin was a resident of Warsaw for half of his life. By looking at the places from the composer's life, we can learn not only about his life but also about the lives of contemporary Warsaw women and men. Why was Krakowskie Przedmieście such an important street in Fryderyk Chopin's life? Where did he start learning to play the piano? Which poet did he maintain contact with from a young age? We will answer these and many other questions during the April walk.

Warsaw's Old Town is known for its incredible atmosphere, charming streets, and beautiful tenements. However, in Chopin's time, it was a completely different place. Was the Old Town as picturesque during the composer's lifetime? Which street was known for its music stores, bookstores, and cafes? Where did Chopin's beloved, Konstancja Gładkowska, live, and where did the composer get into trouble with Joachim Lelewel? We will answer these and other questions during the walk on the first Saturday of May.

Fryderyk Chopin began his career as a pianist as a child during his time in Warsaw. Before leaving Poland in 1830, he gave several interesting concerts. Where did he play his first concert? From whom did he receive a diamond ring? Where could one hear Chopin playing the organ, and what happened to that organ after the composer left Warsaw? We will answer these and other questions during the walk 'Warsaw Concerts of Fryderyk Chopin'.

Every five years, during the Chopin Competition, Warsaw becomes the capital of piano music and hosts many wonderful artists from around the world. During the walk, we will look at places related to the Competition, learn about its history and traditions. Where do pianists practice before the eliminations? How does the National Philharmonic function during the Competition? Where does the jury live and meet? Where does the first concert of the laureates take place?

The Enlightenment was a period of educational development in Polish lands. At the beginning of the 19th century, secondary schools with a high level of education were functioning, often staffed by lecturers from emerging higher education institutions. During the walk, we will follow the paths of contemporary locations of some educational institutions in the center of Warsaw, learn about their former faces, and their connections with the life and education of Fryderyk Chopin.
🚶♂️ Powązki of the Chopins (walk as part of the European Heritage Days)📅 September 14, 11:00 AM📍 St. Honorata Gate, Powązki Cemetery (Powązkowska Street 14)
Old Powązki is one of the oldest cemeteries in Warsaw, where many well-known figures are buried, including those connected with Fryderyk Chopin. Here lie the graves of the composer's family, his friends, teachers, as well as artists and musicians who contributed to Polish culture. During the Saturday autumn walk, we will follow the paths of memorial sites of these individuals, tell their stories, and remind of their relationships with Fryderyk Chopin.
As part of the 32nd edition of the European Heritage Days held under the slogan Trails. Networks. Connections. The Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw invites you to Chopin walks, during which we will see Historical Monuments and one of the sites listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Old Town, the Royal Route, Wilanów, and historic cemeteries in Powązki are just some of them.
The walks on September 8 and 15 are intended for families with children, while the walk on September 14 is for adults and seniors.
Downloading a free ticket for a selected walk taking place as part of the European Heritage Days from the website bilety.nifc.pl entitles you to a one-time entry to the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw within 7 days from the date of the walk.
