Every Saturday, we invite you to explore the exhibition 'Alina Ślesińska. Sketches of Space' with guides from the Education Department. Together, we will view the exhibition, getting to know the diverse work of Alina Ślesińska - from sculptures, through drawings and sketches, to visionary projects.
The section of Alina Ślesińska's work presented at the Sculpture Museum in Królikarnia, related to design and shaping space, fascinates us on many levels. The juxtaposition of sculptural models and drawings by the artist from the period 1960–1989 sheds new light on her way of working with space. It proves that her legacy encompasses much more than the common 'eight plasters,' and her creative engagement in this area did not fade with the passing of the artist's fame. Ślesińska, a student of Xawery Dunikowski, transcended the boundaries between sculpture and architecture. She did this in a visionary way that often sparked much controversy.
