What is Warsaw made of? A series of walks for connoisseurs
We invite you to continue the exceptional series of architectural walks. We will look at Warsaw's architecture from an unusual perspective - its building materials.
In the enormity of the wartime losses in Warsaw, the opinion prevailed that nothing survived on the left bank of the Vistula, since there was nothing left to save or preserve. Nothing could be further from the truth.
We will venture into the heart of the capital to spot witnesses of history - those windows, doors that have seen a lot, but also stand out for their quality of craftsmanship, longevity.
In addition, we will look at the products of the PRL era, things from the time of three thermal and armored glass barriers against fire, how easily they were incorporated into the old urban fabric, drawn by designers who knew how to look. Perhaps one of the last moments, as all of this is disappearing before our eyes.
The meeting will be led by Tomasz Lec - designer and architect.
