The first conversation will be a theoretical introduction. ——— PANELISTS: - Monika Bobako – philosopher, professor at UAM, graduate of UAM and Central European University in Budapest. Author of books such as "Islamophobia as a Technology of Power. A Study in Political Anthropology" (Universitas, 2017) and "Democracy and Difference. Multiculturalism and Feminism in the Perspective of Recognition Politics" (Wydawnictwo Poznańskie 2010), as well as editor of "Emancipatory Theologies" (Praktyka Teoretyczna, 2013) and "Islamophobia. Contexts" (Praktyka Teoretyczna 2017). Interested in issues of race and racism, including Islamophobia and antisemitism, also in connection with the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In 2018, she received the Jan Długosz Award and a nomination for the Tadeusz Kotarbiński Award for her book "Islamophobia as a Technology of Power. A Study in Political Anthropology". Her current research project, funded by the National Science Centre, is titled "Genealogies of Peripheral Whiteness. Polish Identities in the Perspective of Racialization Theory". - Dr Oleksandra Iwaniuk – social researcher and writer living in Warsaw. She combines academic work with public debate; publishes in scientific journals and leading media, including "Polityka", "Gazeta Wyborcza", and "New Eastern Europe". Her doctoral dissertation focused on the analysis of Ukrainian political elites from the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu's practice theory. Currently, she is an assistant professor at the "Artes Liberales" Faculty of the University of Warsaw, where she teaches interdisciplinary courses such as "The Tragedy of Knowledge: Elites, Intellectuals, and Cultural Crisis", "Introduction to Central and Eastern Europe", "Culture and Politics in the Time of Social Transformation", "Poles–Ukrainians: Enemies, Neighbors, Friends?", and "Understanding Ukraine Through Literature". Founder of the literary club "Po Sąsiedzku" ("Between the Neighbors") at the Ukrainian House in Warsaw, which promotes intercultural dialogue and reconciliation through literature and public debate. HOST: - Michał Rezazadeh – cultural studies scholar, cultural and linguistic assistant. He came to Poland from Iran in 2017 and after a few months began speaking Polish fluently. He runs the channel "Iranian in Poland", where he talks about the meeting of two cultures and the everyday life of an emigrant.
