🎹 CHOPIN'S LETTERS. Special display cycle 📅 3.06.2027-28.09.2025 The piano manufacturer Ignace Pleyel et Compie was particularly important to Chopin’s career. It was in Pleyel’s salon that he made his debut as a composer and pianist in Paris, performing in a public concert. Over subsequent years, Chopin stayed in contact with Pleyel’s firm, having entered into an informal agreement over exclusive rights. From the factory’s owner, Camille Pleyel, he ordered pianos that were placed at his disposal immediately after production. He composed and gave lessons at Pleyel pianos and recommended them to his pupils. Chopin invariably regarded them as the finest of instruments and particularly appreciated the quality of their sound. Camille Pleyel was a trained pianist, and Chopin held his Mozart interpretations in high regard. Their friendship lasted until the composer’s death. The last piano loaned to Chopin (serial no. 14810) was prepared personally by Camille Pleyel before being sent from Paris to Warsaw. That instrument is held in the Fryderyk Chopin Museum. - Magdalena Kulig Curator of the Fryderyk Chopin Museum: Dr Seweryn Kuter Curator of the exhibition: Magdalena Kulig Design: Studio Karolina Fandrejewska Photos: Waldemar Kielichowski Conservation: Patrycja Rymar, Dr Marta Zaborowska Translation: John Comber 🎟️ Special display included in the entry ticket to the Museum
