„Unhomely” jest propozycją pewnej wspólnoty odczuwania, zawiązanej wokół doświadczeń form wyobcowania charakterystycznych dla prekariatu. Punktami porozumienia są tu smuga światła na suficie, ciemność za plecami w rogu pomieszczenia, zaburzenia poczucia czasu, języki interfejsów i widok za oknem, do którego nie należy się przyzwyczajać. Paradoksalnie, jedność jest tu poszukiwana w doświadczeniach alienacji. Tytuł wystawy inspirowany jest Freudowską kategorią „Unheimliche”, którą popularnie tłumaczy się dziś jako „uncanny" [niesamowite], choć – jak zaznacza Mark Fisher – oryginalny sens lepiej oddaje przymiotnik „unhomely” [nieswojskie].
