UKRYTE HISTORIE Natalia Brandt, Tomasz Ciecierski, Jarosław Kozłowski, Józef Robakowski, Teresa Tyszkiewicz, Ryszard Waśko 📅 19.09–8.11.2025 Exhibition opening as part of: https://warsawgalleryweekend.pl/ 📅 19.09–21.09.2025 ⏰ Opening hours: 11:00–19:00 "Hidden Stories" will offer the audience an opportunity to explore the sources and references that outstanding contemporary artists draw upon. The exhibition will delve into unknown, long-silenced, and undisclosed secret histories behind the artists' works. As part of the project, the artists will reveal hidden meanings and content, sharing deeper, sometimes very personal narratives with the audience. Giving voice to the creators will allow for uncovering what has been marginally visible or pushed aside for years. The exhibition, emphasizing biographical context, will prioritize individual memory and experience over codified records of institutionally formatted art history. Highlighting the less obvious aspects of the presented artists' work will challenge stereotypes that simplify the interpretation of their art. Leading figures of the neo-avant-garde art scene, often perceived through established interpretative frameworks, will reveal unknown and surprising threads of their work. Exploring the genealogies of the presented pieces will uncover emotions hidden behind seemingly rational language, childhood traumas unexpectedly explained through visual-sound experiments, personal, intimate narratives cleverly embedded in cultural narratives, and experiences developed into fictional stagings. Most of the works will be presented to the Warsaw audience for the first time, with some never having left the artists' studios before. "Hidden Stories" is a project aimed at presenting and popularizing art by uncovering unknown or lesser-known areas of contemporary artistic practices, expanding knowledge about contemporary visual culture. The exhibition will include paintings, photographs, spatial objects, and films. The event is part of Warsaw Gallery Weekend 2025.
