WARSAW DANCE EVENT (WDE) An inclusive underground dance party promoting quality electronic music. After a successful debut in 2024, WDE returns with a Belgium-themed edition, celebrating one of Europe’s most vibrant electronic music hubs. This year, the Belgian scene will be represented by two outstanding artists, leading figures of the Brussels club scene: AZO and STEL-R (Acid City). ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ORIGINS & GENRES Experience the raw energy of pivotal electronic music genres: - Techno - Electro - Electronica - Drum’n Bass United by cutting-edge music technology — samplers, synthesizers, and drum machines — creating sounds and rhythms beyond traditional instruments. Most importantly, they thrive within the inclusive club and rave culture, with the dance floor as their centerpoint. Techno: Born in Detroit in the 1980s, inspired by European electronic music, Kraftwerk, and American funk and disco. Electro: Emerged in New York and Detroit, blending Kraftwerk’s influence with funk and hip-hop. Drum’n Bass: Originated from the British rave and jungle scene of the early 1990s, drawing from reggae, dub, and breakbeat. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ BELGIAN ELECTRONIC MUSIC Belgium has played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of European electronic music. From the early 1990s, Brussels became a hub for techno, electro, house and new beat — a genre born in Belgian clubs in the 80s that influenced rave culture across the continent. Legendary venues like Fuse and artists such as CJ Bolland, Marco Bailey, and Peter Van Hoesen helped define the raw, hypnotic energy of Belgian techno. The country’s scene has always embraced innovation, blending Detroit influences with acid, industrial, and experimental sounds. Today, Brussels continues to thrive with labels like Token, promotors like Acid City and artists like AZO and STEL-R pushing boundaries and connecting past and future. Founded in Ghent in 1983, R&S Records became one of Europe’s most influential techno labels, helping launch the careers of artists like CJ Bolland, Joey Beltram, Aphex Twin, and Juan Atkins, and the label continues to push boundaries today with artists like James Blake, Lone, and Blawan. Join us for a night dedicated to the legacy and future of Belgian electronic music. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ LINE-UP: - AZO (BE) - techno, acid, rave, electro, DJ set - STEL-R (BE) - techno, electro, acid, DJ set - Michael Knight aka Soul Beat Runner (UK) - drum'n bass, vinyl-only DJ set - Klar Kinelis (PL) - hypnotic modular techno, live set - MDMS (PL/BE) – hybrid techno live set - VJ Visual Vector A – immersive visuals Artist bios below! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ VENUE Piekło nad Niebem – ul.
