We warmly invite you to the Night of Bookstores at Najlepsza, which we decided to transform into the Night of Debutants. 📅 October 10th, during this nationwide event, you will meet 3 authors in one evening. We will start at 7:00 PM with a meeting with Maciej Wnuk, the author of the remarkable literary debut titled "Miejsca odległe" (Biuro literackie). His book was nominated for the Gombrowicz Award and earned him a residency in Vence. The conversation will be moderated by Łukasz Zych. During the event, you will be able to purchase the book, ask the author questions, and get a signed copy. Free admission. 📖 ABOUT THE BOOK Stories about the "here and now," but also about the world "in a moment." About the dark sides of technology, its increasing impact on psychology, human behavior, and informational chaos. About languages that are dying out, blurred definitions of life, and migration becoming an inseparable part of everyday life. In Maciej Wnuk's debut collection of stories, we meet, among others, a mechanic living in Norway whose story goes viral when he finds a peculiar object on the beach. We observe a Dublin-based corporate worker moderating social media who loses touch with reality. We accompany a boy living near a nature reserve who strives for a better future for himself. We see how nature in Australia presents humanity with a bill and puts an end to the development of digital immortality technology. The stories in "Miejsca odległe" make us aware of the vast problems of globalized modernity and pose the main question: is there still something that connects us into a network of closely related individuals? 🖋️ ABOUT THE AUTHOR Born in 1995.
